Setting up Email in Netscape 6

  1. If Netscape is running, close it.
  2. Go to Start | Programs | Netscape 6 | Profile Manager.
  3. In the Profile Manager, click Create Profile.
  4. Click Next on the introductory "Create Profile" screen.
  5. Enter your full name and hit Finish.
  6. Select the Profile name you just created and hit Start Netscape.
  7. Cancel the "Netscape Activation" box if it pops up.
  8. Go to the Tasks menu and select Mail. The email box and an Account Wizard should pop up.
  9. On the first screen of the Account Wizard, select "ISP or email provider" and hit Next.
  10. Type in your full name and email address and hit Next.
  11. Select "POP3 Server" as the type of incoming mail server. Type in mail.portbridge.com as both the incoming and outgoing mail server.
  12. Type your entire email address in the Username box and hit Next.
  13. Type your email address in the Account Name box and hit Next.
  14. Hit Finish to confirm the email setup.
If you want to check more than one email account on this computer, close Netscape and repeat this procedure for each additional email account. If Netscape is set up for more than one user, it will prompt you to choose which user profile to use (i.e., which email account to check) when you initially start Netscape.
