Setting Up Your Connection To PortBridge in Windows XP

  1. Click on Start, then select Control Panel
  2. Click on "Switch to Classic View" in the Control Panel menu on the left (this is not necessary if you are already in Classic View, in which case you will see about 25 icons in the Control Panel window)
  3. Double-click on Network Connections
  4. Click on the File menu and select New Connection.
  5. The New Connection Wizard will appear; click Next.   If a screen pops up asking you for information about your location, including the area code, enter this information and hit OK to get to the New Connection Wizard.
  6. Select "Connect to the Internet", then click Next
  7. Click "Setup my connection manually", then click Next
  8. Click "Connect using a Dial-Up modem", then click Next
  9. Enter "Portbridge Internet", then click Next
  10. Enter an Access Number, then click Next
  11. Enter your username and password, then enter your password a second time to confirm it.  Make sure all three boxes at the bottom of the screen are checked, then click Next
  12. Check the box to make a shortcut for this connection on your desktop, then click Finish.  

To establish a dialup connection, simply double-click on the shortcut to Portbridge Internet on your desktop.
